General Uniform Notes

• Girls hair must be worn in a ballet bun

• Short sleeve pink leotard (Mondor brand – True Pink 1635)
• Seamless ballet pink tights and full sole leather ballet slipper
• Mondor pink skirt for Storybook Ballet ages 3 and 4.  (Mondor brand – True Pink)  Ages 5 and up skirt is not required.

R.A.D. Pre-Primary and Primary Ballet

• Wear Moi Ballet Leotard (Galate-Lilac)
• Seamless ballet pink tights (convertible with hole in bottom)
• Full sole leather ballet slipper

• Wear Moi Ballet Leotard (Galate-Pacific Blue)
• Seamless ballet pink tights, (convertible with hole in bottom)
• Full sole leather ballet slipper
• Character shoe, low heel
• Character skirt (available late September from the studio – see below)

• Exam candidates require a chiffon skirt/tutu (to be organized closer to exams)

• Seamless ballet pink tights (convertible with hole in bottom of foot)
• Canvas split sole slippers
• Character shoe (high heel)

BALLET UNIFORM NOTES

Ballet Intensive and Ballet students taking three or more classes

For students taking three plus ballet classes a week, a second body suit will be needed.  This may be the students own color choice. It may be tank or spaghetti strap but please keep it a simple design, preferably a solid colour, plain straps only. The teachers will advise when they can wear the 2nd leotard. Students may either wear split sole canvas slippers or leather slippers for class.

Grade One upwards ballet girls

Consider your leotard like a bathing suit.  You do not need to wear anything but your tights underneath.  Please make sure bra straps are hidden.  Bras are meant to be under garments.  Please make sure bodysuits are fitted snuggly to avoid shoulder straps slipping during class.  Motionwear leotards are very stretchy and have comfortable straps.

Character skirts

Character skirts will be fitted in class in September.   The studio rents character skirts for a one time fee of $20 – as the students grows we will exchange their skirt for the next size.   Please note the character skirts are specific to our studio.  Please do not buy elsewhere.  The character skirts remain at the studio.

Pointe shoe fitting and ribbon sewing information

• Girls hair must be worn in a ballet bun or slicked back neat pony tail

• Bottoms: Either a black bike length unitard (as shown in the drawing) or plain black bike short or black capri leggings.
• Top for Jazz and Lyrical: plain leotard or yoga top in any solid color.  Please no patterns, stripes or writing.
• Top for Musical Theatre: Black D.I.D. Musical Theatre t-shirt or plain leotard. Sizing and ordering of t-shirts will take place the first week of class
• Tan jazz shoes elasta bootie pull on

• Bottoms: Plain black jazz pant OR plain black jazz capris
• Tops – Plain leotard or fitted yoga top in any solid color. Please no patterns stripes or writing.
• Jazz and Musical Theatre Shoes: Tan jazz shoes elasta bootie pull on
• Lyrical Jazz: General program classes will be in bare feet.  We will notify competitive lyrical classes in the fall if turners are required.

• Girls hair must be worn in a ballet bun or slicked back neat pony tail

• Either a black bike length unitard or black bike shorts and leotard from ballet class (same as Junior Jazz drawing above)
• Black tap shoes black Oxfords (recommendations include Capezio or Bloch Maryjane come with non slip rubber sole and the taps already on)
• Black socks

• Plain black jazz pant or black capris or black shorts – absolutely no stripes or writing
• Plain solid color lyrca leotard/fitted lycra top              
• Black Oxford tap shoe (recommendations Capezio CG19)

• Girls hair must be slicked back in a neat pony tail
• Bottoms: Black shorts, black leggings or black athletic pants
• Tops: White, Black or Bold-Coloured Tshirt (no graphics, logos or writing please).

Shoes: Pastry “Cassatta” shoes required for all hip hop classes.

Note regarding Hip Hop Shoes: Indoor use only – Please change in to hip hop shoes once enter the studio.   Thank you for keeping our dance floors clean!

• Hair must be off dancer’s face.  Long hair must be slicked back in neat pony tail or bun.
• Plain fitted t-shirt: white, black or bold coloured.  Please make sure the t-shirt is plain with no graphics or writing.
• Plain white runners, non marking soles dedicated for use only at the studio (outdoor shoes are not permitted)
• Black dance shorts.
